New York Times Columnist and PBS commentator, David Brooks, is a national voice for social, cultural and political insight. His TED Talk, “The Social Animal,” has been viewed by over one million people and was translated into 33 languages. Brooks view of human nature acknowledges we have lost our true humanity from lack of genuine social interpersonal communication. His most recent book, The Road to Character, which was a No. 1 New York Times best-seller. Others include: Bobos in Paradise: The New Upper Class and How They Got There and The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love, Character, and Achievement.
Anne Snyder is a writer and convener committed to exploring questions of class and culture, moral beauty and a beatitudinal faith. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Comment Magazine, and director of The Philanthropy Round-table's Character Initiative. She is also a Fellow at the Center for Opportunity Urbanism, a Houston-based think tank that explores how cities can drive opportunity for the bulk of their citizens, and a Senior Fellow with the Trinity Forum. From 2014 to 2017 Anne worked for Laity Lodge and the H.E. Butt Family Foundation in Texas, and before that she worked at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, World Affairs Journal and The New York Times. She holds a Master’s degree in journalism from Georgetown University and a B.A. in philosophy and international relations from Wheaton College (IL). Anne serves as a trustee for the Center for Public Justice, and has published widely, including in The Atlantic Monthly, The Washington Post, City Journal, and Philanthropy Magazine. In March of this year she published her first book, The Fabric of Character: A Wise Giver’s Guide to Supporting Social and Moral Renewal.
